This time my video is not up because of reasons beyond my control: my mac shut off right when I was getting close to finishing my video editing.  When I get home from work I will finish and post it!!!  Sorry!!! ><;
It’s up now at the bottom of the page…

Geez.   Posting on Sunday was STRESSFUL!  I had enough trouble finding enough to talk about (in my vlog, not the blog – I can always talk on the blog, haha) and I wasn’t home all day so I couldn’t finish it!  Like I said on Sunday, I blame Twilight and knitting.

TWILIGHT.  Oh. My. Gosh.  I love it so much.  I feel so sheepish about being so anti-Twilight.  I think I was more anti-Edward Cullen flair (seriously – it’s like, 1/5 of the flair pages).  I will not add any more Twilight flair.  But…

::gushing and possible spoilers are in the next paragraph::

EDWARD AND BELLA ARE SO ADORABLE AND PERFECT!  GAH!  I love how much Edward cares for her but I will NOT go the cliche route and say he is perfect…  He’s just… wonderful… *siigh*…..  Still, I wonder…  Those that have read it, do you think that Bella would love Edward if he wasn’t a vampire?  Would he hold any allure for her or is it pure lust and vampire charms/magic?  I don’t think she would have noticed him especially because he wouldn’t have been so secluded.  But there are so many factors to this hypothetical situation…  I’ve thought a lot about how superficial their relationship seems.  Yes, they know nearly everything about each other and got to know each other very well but it feels weird, I guess.  Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE IT.  I love them.  Let’s say she becomes a vampire eventually – wouldn’t it be weird if they lost all feeling for each other because she no longer carried her scent he loves and he was no longer attractive to her?  I wonder.  Very hypothetical.  I seriously doubt that would happen.

*EDITED, after finishing Eclipse*

I finished all three, found the first chapter of Breaking Dawn online (here, if you’re interested from this website) and read the first chapter of Midnight Sun (found here), which is Twilight from Edward’s point of view.  WOW.  All I can say.  Thanks for the challenge, Katie.  I knew I would come around to liking this book…  I just had to swallow my pride.  I’m a sucker for romances.  This is a GOOD one.  However, the Jacob/Edward angst hurts really bad, lol.

Romance aside, I really like the author’s writing style.  It’s easy to read, it’s interesting, and it really doesn’t bother me that it’s in the first person.  I noticed right away but it wasn’t awkward at all.  Maybe that’s why it’s so appealing.  The action stuff is pretty great and I was tense while reading Twilight.  I finished New Moon on Sunday and I finished Eclipse Wednesday night.  I hate that these books are $20 a pop but they must be mine…  Just watch – next time I go back they will have New Moon in paper back.  That would suck.  It’s going to happen eventually but I’m trying to let it go.  I’ve got $15 in e-rewards money (from taking surveys – no scam!  I already bought a book with a previous earning period).

Actually, I’m going to give them credit and share with you guys - e-rewards.  I so recommend it for book money, lol.  I’ve made a little over $30 in nine months.  It’s not a lot, obviously, but I get money for books.  And I love books.  They don’t spam you and surveys come once a week or more sometimes.  I have to say, though, some of the surveys are boring, repetitious and time consuming.  One took me thirty minutes and was about a bunch of stores I had never heard of, causing me to click “not heard of” after every single one…  I just saw that my membership will expire in December!  I don’t want it to!  I’m attached to my book money!

That was a very strange tangent to go off.  Sorry to spam you all, haha.

The ballet (Sleeping Beauty) was pretty good.  I was expecting an orchestra but I was disappointed to find that the music was canned.  Still, it was quality canned music so I got over it.  It still counts as a concert credit for college ;) .  The dancers were very good except some of the dancers were not dancing in time with the music.  That’s what happens when you just go with the steps and ignore the music.  I’m not judging or saying it’s easy – I’m sure it isn’t – but it’s something I noticed…  There was a woman who sat in the very front row and every time there was applause she would stand up and bow very dramatically.  I think she may have been a dancer a long time ago and she was just… eccentric or confused.  I’m leaning more towards confused, unfortunately.

One thing about ballet that I completely forgot about was… the men’s tights.  I’m not going to be graphic but it caught me off guard, to be completely honest.  I wasn’t immature about it and I’m still not uncomfortable but….  I really do not think that they were thick enough and I wish the Prince had worn pants like all the other men rather than just white tights.  For a visual, imagine a naked statue from all angles.  Have the image?  Here’s one if you don’t:

That’s what I saw.  Sorry to have to share.  Other than that, great dancing and wonderful costumes!  Puss in Boots was my favorite dance at the end of the ballet.  There will be some of the ballet in my video for today.  I snuck it out!  There wasn’t anything about recording devices so I’m not breaking any rules, really…  it’s not like the quality will be any good…

My Monday was very busy and very annoying.  I woke up at six AM and had to go with my parents to all sorts of different places to pick up breakfast foods.  This is because it was my dad’s chanter competition.  We were hosting this year and it was very stressful for my parents for at least two weeks.  They always go above and beyond what is expected of them and being around them is probably where I get that habit from.

They were very pleasant to me all day and I think it was because I was trying to be very helpful and they actually didn’t need my help.  It was a good combination.  I was able to read that way.  Dad made me work the video camera and it was annoying.  By this time I had finished the book and moved on to knitting my next project (which is secret).  In the end, my dad’s vocal quartet won the trophy for the fifth time.  They were pleased, naturally.  They did deserve it, though, despite their big heads ;) .  Some of their singing will be in the video too, don’t worry…

After we had that for most of the day we went to a Cardinal’s Baseball game!  We played the NY Mets.  It was fun and I enjoyed myself.  I had not yet been to the new stadium and it was very nice.  After the burning sun went away it was even comfortable and cool.  We ended up winning with a home run and there was much rejoicing.  Also in the video.

We ended up taking the Metrolink and I love it so much more than the El in Chicago.  The El makes me nervous and worry and the Metrolink was comfortable, clean and friendly.  Everyone was going to the baseball game and people talked to each other rather than avoiding eye contact.  I was able to knit in peace and finished one portion of the secret project.

Something random that didn’t make the video: I picked up some cookie straws from Drew (my friend Elisabeth’s boyfriend) on Sunday.  They are very tasty and work with both milk and juice…  Yes, I dip my cookies in juice sometimes when I don’t have milk – it tastes good!!!  ….Which brings me to my question for the day: What are some of your odd habits?

I watched Enchanted last night.  Every time they said “Edward” I thought of Twilight.  Ugh.  What a disease.

My video will go is HERE!!!!

Love,

I’ve got to stop posting so early in the morning!  It makes me look pathetic and crazy because I have to work tomorrow.  At least you know the truth…

As I mentioned on Monday, I was not very happy at the start of this week.  Nearly two hours before I wrote that post I found out that I was “fired” from my position at my school job via email.  I was very unhappy because I was not let in on the decision and told nearly a month late.  Everyone told me that I was not told right away because Doc did not want to “ruin my summer” and knew I wouldn’t take it well.  I would have been fine had I been told before the others on staff – then it would have been more of a situation where everyone agreed with the decision.  I lost the right to step down, I guess, and that hurt my pride.  My friends agree with me on that matter.  It shouldn’t have happened the way it did.  So, when we get back to school we’re going to say it was a group decision.  It’s not lying!  My friends defended me when they talked with Doc PLUS I agree with the decision, even though it was dealt with poorly.

Still, I was more upset because someone found out (that shouldn’t have) before me.  Monday night I got to talk to Andrew (the person that took my place) and he helped me feel better about the whole situation and explained what happened.  Anyway, long story short, I still have my job but I am no longer in charge because I get “so stressed out” during the school year.  I say whatever to stress.  >:| <–face, haha

HAPPIER TOPIC!

I got to work a ton this week!  Wait… that’s not happy…  Well, yes it is.  I get money for working AND I get to experience lunch time at day care tomorrow – woot!  The bad part is that most of my day is spent working and I have little morning free time.  Welcome to the real world, I guess, haha.

Another thing that happened this week is that my friend, Casey, went to my favorite summer place EVER: LSM (Lutheran Summer Music – there’s a link on my personal blog).  It’s a month long music camp and you are surrounded by other nerds and it’s a wonderful time.  I miss it pretty bad.  This is my second year of not going.  Last year was much worse – I was a weepy mess the whole weekend before it started.  This time I only teared up once and it was a happy memory.  So, I am very happy that she is having a good time but very sad I cannot be there.  I am seriously thinking of applying to be a counselor or intern there next summer.  I wanted to this summer but my parents held me back for various reasons.  I wish they hadn’t and I wish I had the guts to go for it.  Next summer I will be more independent.  I will pay for a plane ticket if I must (and that might be the easiest/cheapest bet, lol).

Money is so annoying.  I wish we could still barter and trade.  I would be like,

“Hey, flute man – if you cut the price of that new flute I want in half I will give you the reduced price plus my two old flutes, my guitar, my piano AND my trombone for it.”

“Sure, Megan!  Nice trade!  I’ve always wanted a beat up trombone with a leak!”

Except… it wouldn’t be a nice trade.  I would be paying and giving much less than the actual price.  But his love for that crusty trombone would be worth so much more to him…  If only.  This would also work for paying for college, food, anything you want.  I try not to be too materialistic but I REALLY want a new flute.  No joke.  The one I have now is… oh gosh, it’s almost seven years old.  :(  It’s clanky and…  I want a new SHINY flute!

  • What was your best or worst family vacation ever?  Why?
My best BIG family vacation ever was when my entire family (around 20 people) went to Branson, MO (it doesn’t get more exciting than that…) and stayed for a long weekend.  That was with my entire paternal side.
With just my parents and I, I suppose it would be Disney World when I was seven (in… 1995?)  We stayed at the awesome Disney All-Star resort and the housekeepers organized my stuffed animals on my bed and it made me really happy – I left them a note.  But we got to go to Blizzard Beach and I got sick from the water but it was still a lot of fun.  Good times with my parents…
  • What is your favorite glue and why?
I thought about it and I decided GLUE STICK is my favorite glue.  Versatile - used for construction paper, cards, letters, etc… And it dries clear! ;)

Here’s my video!!!  It includes two challenges, questions, and Ian’s challenge for me…

You can all decide if my second go at Ian’s challenge counts or not.  I think it should.  ;)
aaaaaand sorry about the glare on my glasses – I didn’t feel like changing into contacts!

Uhm….  I’m not typing out the Would You Rathers so try and pay attention!!!

I’ll see you all on SUNDAY when I cover for Katie (who is in the UK…So lucky…)

LOVES!

PS:  When we get to school I have a horrible feeling it will be harder to find time to video edit.  It would be like, theory homework OR video editing… hmm…  I wonder which would win?
