This time I haven’t just come out of Batman, so not only do we have a video, we have coherency!

I did like it, BTW. It just took me a day to recover.

This week has been surprisingly busy. To my utter bafflement I ended up hanging out with all manner of friends and actually having a social life during the week, which I should probably have taken videos of because that is probably a lot more interesting than just my face talking about environmentalism in an absent-mindedly committed fashion.

So this installment of How-To week is: How to Be Better at the Environment (unless of course, you are actually good at the environment in which case you probably know this and much more).

I really did hug that tree, although granted all you can see is my “I’m hugging a tree” face.
So my challenges this week is to actually participate in How-To week, guys, and um… have a nice week? and also…I forgot what question I asked last week but it had to do with college and NOBODY ANSWERED IT, I only just remembered that, so, I’ll try and put that in the questions page and maybe we can get to answering some questions? idk.

Random Sunday Factoid: Pistachios are dangerous to transit because they tend to spontaneously combust when packed closely together in storage…

Silly title, Katie, all days are days of the sun! Oh well. I was trying to think of something interesting.

Not much has been happening in my life as of late, my roommate has yet to respond to my email (which results in a great deal of frustration on my part, WHYY ARE YOU AVOIDING ME. Surely it can’t be the fact that the email I sent you was near-psychotic…)

I also kind of have a job at my Dad’s office which consists of doing all the things he is too lazy to do, like copying things into the computer and apparently I’ll have the monumental task of cleaning his office sometime soon. That sounds like fun! Well, not exactly, but on the other hand.. MONEY?

Which brings me to Brittany’s challenge, which was to talk about something that’s been intriguing us lately. And this has always been a slight fascination for me (on the list of Things Katie Does Not Understand), but MONEY. IT IS PAPER. SURELY YOU CAN’T GET SOMETHING VALUABLE FROM SOMEONE IF YOU GIVE THEM PAPER. THEY CAN’T DO ANYTHING WITH IT EXCEPT GIVE IT TO SOMEONE ELSE.

And yet, everyone accepts money and therefore it works. I mean, I know it seems quite obvious, but if you actually just step outside of “civilized society”s viewpoint for a second and look at it, it seems almost like magic.

….Oooor maybe that’s just me. Anyhew, that was my main ponderance this week, I may or may not post a video I made about that thing on my own channel. Um.

I HAVE PICTURES! Three facebook albums, to be exact. Technically it’s not even all the photos- I keep putting off putting the last few dregs up. But, these albums contain most of them, so:

England part 1, part 2, and part 3 I’m not really a photographer, so I mean I apologize in advance for some of the silliness of the pictures. But still. ENGLAND. amiright?

I have no idea if the “themes” idea is good or not, I just thought I’d put that out there to see if anyone was interested! I know some people are overwhelmed by the questions and challenges already, and maybe some people want more, so… I dunno? But anyway, just to remind everyone that this is totally an ongoing, changing, living project, so suggestions and changes are always gonna be welcome, I hope!

Oh, I know you guys were waiting for this: Random Fact of The Sunday! Oscar Wilde was actually famous before he even started writing. When he came to Oxford (from I believe Edinburgh University?), he was allready well-known just because of his personality- as an aesthete, and also as a really cocky intelligent student. Needless to say his professors probably didn’t like him much.

I’m a little concerned that Ian hasn’t posted yet, but hopefully he’ll have some stuff up eventually? Or maybe he just has no internet access (didn’t he say he needed someone to cover for him this week?). Needless to say I feel a little bit intimidated by the responsibility of being the sole representer of NerdU’s weekend update BUT I WILL STAND STRONG IN THE FACE OF ADVERSITY.

I almost wrote “diversity” there, that would have been a rather embarrassing mix-up. Anywho.

I am back from England! Sadly there is no picspam as such yet, there is a small picpuddle in our flickr photostream. I will link to the picflood most likely in next week’s update, when I’m done changing the monstrous pictures so that they can actually fit on the internet.

The answers to the questions I didn’t get to in the video: Best family vacation.. I’ve had about five million (ok well not that much, but I’ve been travelling since I was a toddler which is a little awkward when my parents are like “Remember when we went to Germany? Oh oh nevermind, you were 2.” Italy was pretty fantastic though.

Pirates V. Ninjas, if you mean who would win in a fight, I’m all for ninjas. I just think ninjas are probably a lot more efficient at the whole combat thing seeing as that is what they do by default. And pirates are defaulted for looting and pillaging. So if it was a looting and pillaging contest, then pirates, totally. Otherwise, ninjas*.
*=excluding of course Captain Jack Sparrow because he is the hero and therefore would survive any attack, ninjas or no.

My favourite glue.. is.. um.. elmer’s. Cause it’s the only kind I have. :P
ohmigod. picasso and raspberries. HOW AWESOME WOULD THAT BE. That’s all I really care about though.

OH MAN. I forgot the baby pictures, they will be coming eventually, I promise, I never put off an opportunity to show off the baby picture of me in a dryer. :D

Random Fact of the Sunday: “Bug” is actually a scientific word regarding an insect that can suck.

OH. And in College news, I got the name of my roommate on Wednesday when I came back! :D Unfortunately she doesn’t have a facebook that I can see and she hasn’t replied to my email yet but I am TOO SCARED to call her for now….so I ended up googling her (that’s embarrassing, but then when your roomie’s got a name that doesn’t ping ANYTHING on facebook, you figure that it will be fairly easy to find who you’re looking for). And she is the “historian” of her NHS, or was. I found that more comforting than anything else, seeing as I was dreading someone much more hyped up about… say, shopping. Or something less nerdfighterly.

I think I forgot something else in this post (surprise surprise), but it’s 6:30 and I figure it’s time to publish the darn blog!

You’ll hear from me next week anyway. :P
