But like I said in the last video post I did we need to talk about this. The three of us and anyone still on here interested in re-working this should set a time to meet on aim or on the ning or something and talk about how we’re going to re-work this. I want to keep going but I think we need to switch this up…maybe alternating blog and vlog weeks and I don’t know being able to switch our days or something since now that we’re in school our schedules might be a little bit different than we had expected….so yeah…respond to this post and we’ll set up a time to figure this out so we can fix this.

Stuff on a Thursday

Another Thursday. Another week with just two posts. Sad face. Katie, I think we either need to stop or find new people. I’m sort of up for just stopping… Then I can just post when I want on LJ and WP. We had a good run… slash, it was only like a month. Psh.

ANYWAY, I am going home tomorrow! :D Fall Break roxors! October is a busy month for me. Yes, quite. The end of the month brings us on fall wind symphony tour AND MY 21ST BIRTHDAY. I survived midterms (barely) but mostly because I only had two of them. BUT THEY WERE HORRENDOUS. I had them on the same day one right after the other. Orchestration and Arranging and CLARINET. WOE TO ME, THE CLARINET. My playing test went well and I am relieved. I can now play a chromatic scale and all scales up to four flats and sharps. WOOT. If the clarinet didn’t mess up my embouchure so much I would possibly audit lessons so I can become a woodwind expert, lol. That would be dandy. Next we start sax. Maybe I could keep learning it also because then I could play from the reed books in pit orchestras. I would feel so accomplished.

KATIE – the image from my last post was the example from my music of what I taught my flutes. Quarter note tied to a sixteenth note run. :) I drew it! I have a program called Skitch and it’s really cool (and just for macs )

Anyway, I have class in fifteen minutes (which is really just a recital THAT I DIDN’T MAKE ON BECAUSE THE JUDGES WERE ANNOYING.

I auditioned for Concerto and this is “Round 2″ and my GROUP DIDN’T MAKE IT BECAUSE THEY TOOK ONE PERSON OUT OF OUR GROUP AND LET HER THROUGH. THAT WASN’T IN THE RULES. I am glad she’s through but I suppose I am…

I have absolutely so much homework this week, it is so not cool.
math is impossible and I have a 3-4 page essay. -sigh-
and then my midterm is tuesday, and I also have a 2 page assignment for ES due monday at 12 and basically I am screwed for the next two days but after that, everything is freaking OVER WTF.

but parent’s weekend was this weekend so although I did get to procrastinate entirely I did get to see my parents so that was worth it, and good. <3

sorry this post is so short but I really have to make myself finish this essay soon. Sorry Megan. btw, I liked the little graphic you had in your post even though I have no idea what it means. :O

MEEP!

Oops! My days are beginning to blur together and I LIVE for the weekend THEREFORE my Thursdays are becoming forgotten!

Last night they started Christmas music in University Band. It was a joy to sit and listen whilst eating my Jimmy John sandwich… Thursdays are very busy for me, actually, and I’ve explained before but now I have to run flute sectionals. I believe that it is working out pretty well and that we’re accomplishing things. It’s good and my confidence is growing!

For example, there was one place in the music where there’s a run coming out of a tie and it’s sort of tricky to get.

I had them play it slowly without the tie and they could do it but as soon as I added the tie back in they couldn’t get it. I had them just play the first note after the tie (did that a few times) then added the tie back in and they got it! I was so happy!

Okay – I have class in five minutes so I’ll get going! Hope you had a great week Katie!!! :)

If you guys are interested in what I’m doing, I spent most of the day interviewing people for this article I hope to publish in the asian magazine on campus about multiracial people, so that basically took up my life (and homework time) today. I also went to the Martial Arts Club meeting where we did a few things, and I felt a little bit like I was actually exercising (although not enough by far).

ALSO MY PARENTS ARE COMING THIS WEEKEND!! I am so so excited about this. Super psyched. But I need to clean up my room.

Megan, are we the only consistent ones left? haha we are a BVLOG OF TWO. :O Except I seem to keep not having time/a roommateless room on Sundays to vlog in.

THURSDAY FAIL

BAH. I was busy all day and yesterday I honestly believed it was Tuesday. And by yesterday I mean Wednesday. Then at like, 11:30 last night I realized it was Wednesday and I panicked (sort of) because I figured there was no way in hell I would be able to make a video, which is unfortunate because I like doing it. BUT THERE’S NOTHING INTERESTING FOR ME TO TELL YOU! I am seriously busy all the time and I had homework last night and I don’t tonight but instead today I was busy ALL DAY and I had classes and rehearsals and practices and set ups and then I almost didn’t eat and NOW I’M HUNGRY.

Holy run-on sentence, Batman! (I’ve seen someone else use that whether on this blog or another or in a book, etc. – sorry for the unoriginal-ness…)

I’m preparing myself for Concerto auditions that are taking place on Tuesday. Much Italian must be memorized and pronounced properly and I have to learn to look excited about what I am singing and not look ridiculous. UGH.

I have an in-class listening scoring project tomorrow and I don’t like it. We have to listen to a piano piece and score it for strings. I do NOT want to do it. Mostly because I am SURE they are going to want harmonics and I don’t remember the open strings on the four of them!!! I NEED TO KNOW OMG.

There is a U Band concert Sunday night and I have to set up and take it down all day, pretty much. That was half my day today. I didn’t even get to watch The Office. I have it taped, FYI, so we will watch tomorrow. I am SO TIRED. I won’t sleep, though, because I need to knit.

I finished Breaking Dawn for the second time FINALLY. I took too long because of time constraints and stuff. Le sigh. Now it is in someone else’s hands. They are going to read it for the FIRST TIME AND I AM SO HAPPY FOR THEM. They’ll probly have a lil heart attack reading, though, haha!

I DON’T WANT TO SCHOOL TOMORROW.
